Could someone please tell me what the jets should be set at on an H. And also, procedure for adjusting valves, i know it says .018 hot,can i set them cold so they are in the ballpark. Fresh rebuild and I am not getting any fuel to cylinders, up to carb, not to cylinders??? Any help on this one would be appreciated.

Take the plug from the bottom of the carb fuel bowl and verify that you have a continuous supply of fuel. The float could be stuck.

Ben I would suggest .020 for cold since you have a fresh engine. Those valves will be seating over the next 20 hours or so. I recommend you re-torque the head bolts after the second hour or so. Since you will have the rocker arm assembly off, that is when I reset the clearances to .018.

Open up the bottom jet about 3 full turns and see if that gets you going.

thanks for the help on my H. had a problem with the H staying running and you suggested to try cleaning the gas lines and valves and I found a small stone in the shut off valve and fixed it . now the old girl runs like new . thanks again forever grateful Keith
