To split the solid cast single front rim all you have to do is obviously remove the rim from the forks and just take out the four large bolts and then you will probably have to smack the rim with a dead-blow hammer or such to get it apart. The axle has a grease zerk in one end that feeds the entire axle so while you have it apart it will be a good time to make sure that the grease is getting to all the places it is supposed to be going. Hopefully yours will be in better shape than mine was, I had to bore out the rims and put in bushings and make a new axle. They were very worn out....
Good Luck, ~Brian

I also have an extremely worn front axle on a single wheel f12. How were you able to get it out of the hub?

This is only for the solid cast front wheel. The single steel wheel might be different.
I attached a picture of what the axle looks like, the flange is in between the halves of the wheel. The flange is what keeps the wheel in the center of the axle. Once you remove the wheel from the forks take out the four large bolts, they are the bolts that hold the wheel halves together. Once you get the bolts out you should be able to get the halves apart. If the tire is still on try to remove it it will make it a lot easier. If not take a dead-blow hammer and smack the end of axle as if you were trying to drive it out of the hub to try to seperate them. Mine was stuck together pretty good. I then had to make a new axle and bore out the wheel halves and press in bushings.
Good Luck!!
