I recently purchased a 1947 Farmall H. An uninstalled loader (which I had to trailer home separately) came with the deal. The guy I bought it from said the loader was a Model 30 or Model 31 Loader. I have seen Farmall Implement Operator Manuals listed on the internet for a "Power Loader" Model 30, Model 31, and Model 33A. Based on an emailed picture from a gent, I know that I do NOT have a Model 33.

How can I tell the difference between the 30 and 31? Also, how do I really know if I have a "Farmall Power Loader"???

I want to purchase an implement operator manual for this loader -- if nothing else, so that I install it correctly! Although not perfect for snow, I want to install this loader onto my H before the Connecticut snow flies. I want to hook it up to my H, but not sure exactly how. A lot of it is obvious. But, I know I am missing some of the mounting brackets. Figure an implement operator manual would tell me. But, need to know which model, so I can order the correct manual.

Please go to the link below to see the images of my loader:

This is quite a coincidence....I just purchased a
loader for my '40 "H" that is this very same beast
and trailered it home - what a nightmare *that*
was - this beast is HEAVY! The guy I purchased
mine from didn't know the model number
either....although he swore it was an
International Loader. I haven't hooked mine up
yet, but did get detailed instructions how to do
it. I plan on hooking mine up this weekend or
before, and will get back to you on tips, etc...
You'll need some axle clamps (2) and various
bolts, which I assume you were given when you
bought the tractor...the rear of the loader bolts
to the rear axle. When looking at your loader
from the rear, that flat iron bar at the top will
be over your steering wheel, maybe slightly in
front of it. The carraige frame that slides up
and down on the two poles (near the back of the
bucket) bolt onto your frame rails of your "H" and
also to the two holes through the upper part of
your grille into an extended part of the frame, in
front of your radiator. That should leave the two
longer poles extending from the seat area forward
towards the frame rails too - these, I believe,
bolt onto the fram rails, but I haven't figured
that part out yet either...

If you happen across the model number, I'd love to
know, so I can get a manual too... Yours looks
pretty nice compared to mine - those are some
serious spikes on the front!

cheers,
Pete

It is definitely not a Farmall #31. It looks very similar to a New Idea loader I junked 2 1/2 years ago.
