Hi List, I have two International belly mowers and both of them have a five inch hole in the deck in front of the blade pully. Can any one tell me what these are for? Also what can I put on the stearing wheel to keep ones hands from getting black?
Bill

I don't know anything about the 5" holes but I have done a little work on steering wheels. Lightly sand it, prime it. and paint it. I used an acrylic satin finish spray paint and it worked great. It's been on 4 or 5 years now. If you have any broken out spots, fill them with Bondo and paint. If you are carefull, it will look like new.

Steering wheels--- sand/scrub off all the dead rubber. Green 3M scrubbers work ok. If you have cracks that run to the iron core dry it out behind the wood stove 'bout a week. Fill all the cracks w/ PC-7 epoxy, sand to shape, paint w/ good paint, probably a couple of good coats -- remember this will get some wear over time.
