Case selling McCormick name.

I have read that Case is selling the McCormick name to Landini along with a plant in England. Anyone else heard this? I'd hate to think it was true, there's a lot of heritage in that name.

Yup, its a great shame. The McCormick name must still have some sales magic in Europe for Case-IH to sell it.

Does the McCormick name go back to the McCormick Reaper? I remember writing a report about the man and machine when I was in elementary school. Enjoyed the study and did pretty well too.

Yes indeed. McCormick Reaper, McCormick-Deering tractors, McCormick Farmall, a ton of history behind that name. Lets hope that they don't drop IH from Case IH.
