Hi Bob, The 606 is the same as a 2606. Comes with a C221 or a D236 in wide front only. Made from 1962 to 1967. Both gas or diesel 54hp@ PTO, with 10F & 2Reverse. 4.5, 7, 12 or 17gal hydraulic pump, TA available, Shuttle, rockford clutch. That's all the info I have.

Bob,

The International 606 is just an improved version of the International (not Farmall) 460. it has either a 221 cu in six cylinder gas or LPG engine or a 236 cu in six cyl diesel. Nebraska test 825 on the gas 606 46.45 db hp 7 53.80 pto hp. Nebraska test 826 on the diesel 606 47.66 db hp and 54.31 pto hp. Everything about the tractor is very simular to the I 460. It was available with or without TA and was also avilable with a forward & reverse which gave it 5 forward & 5 reverse. It was built 62 - 67 and was also made in an industrial version which was the International 2606.

The 606 seems like a oddball model, never seen one in my area and this is IH country. My uncle has a 706 Diesel with 67 drawbar and 72 PTO horsepower so I would guess that the 606 is about 60 horsepower. Seems like on most IH's the model numbers can be broken down into say 706 (70 horsepower, 6 cylinder). The 706 is a great tractor.

Bob there was scant information in the "150 years of IH" book. They were produced from 1962-1967.
