Have a 504 TA will barley start.Will Hardly
start at idle . Will run good after it warms up . Gave it a complete tune up (no change) . Help Bill KY

Check the ignition resistor bypass feature. Best way I've found is connect a clip lead from battery to battery side of the coil.

Later.

PS.... Don't run it this way. You'll cook your points and maybe the coil too.

Check the timing, and the spark advance weights in the distributor.

Check for complete closing of choke, (asume it is a gas engine) this will make it hard to start.
