I've lived on a farm all my life and don't know whats wrong. My M is a 1951 and you can go out the road with it and it will go fine but when you hook it to the plows you can plow about a half of a round then it acts like the clutch is slipping but it ain't. I don't know if when they took the belly pump out they screwed up the shaft or what.
please help me. They put live hydraulics on it from a Farmall 400.

With the belly pump removed its relatively easy to get the clutch out and take a look at it. Sounds like a good chance its covered with oil - maybe the rear seal is leaking. There is nothing someone could do to the drive shaft when removing the pump that would allow the tractor to move at all.

What RB said makes good since to me. Is it leaking any oil around the back of the motor or dripping from around the back of the oil pan. Could be a leaking rear seal. Mine leaks there and when you look up in the clutch inspection area there is oil on everything.

how do you tell if it is the rear seal with out breaking it apart and what can you do to prevent it?

If the seal is leaking the only fix is to replace it. Replacing it means removing the oil pan and splitting the tractor. If there is oil around the clutch area the only place it can come from is the oil seal.

Not to be a pain , but its possable that the rear camshaft plug could leak . Not as likely as the rear main seal .
Just a thought

I think you could look up in the clutch inspection hole with a light while it is running and see if oil is coming out between the fly wheel and motor. If it is I belive it has to be split to fix. I was very nervous about doing this but it was not to bad and I consider myself only a marginal mechanic. My 78 year old dad and I had it apart in about an hour.Good time to check clutch and ring gear, throw out bearing and the like. I have read on here where people have by mistake or from hydraulic pump leaking into the crankcase overfilled their crank case with oil and caused the rear main to leak. I think when the oil level is corrected after a time that kind of leak will most often stop on it's own. Just a few things to consider.

I mnot 100% sure I understand what you are talking about but what makes you think the clutch isnt slipping. Its possible they messed up the three "fingers" in there getting it out.But it shouldnt have affected those if it was done right.Might have gotten some oil on the clutch somehow and is sliping under load.
