I put an add in our local trader paper this week saying I wanted a laoder for the H. Well the same day the paper came out I had 3 calls on people. Went to go look at one today and ended up buying it. The loader is an International 30 or 31 (dont know the difference)and is in excellent shape except for the rust but were gonna sandblast it all down and paint it. It has no bends what so ever. Everything seems tight on it. The guy that I bought it from has the biggest IH collection in the county. He has a ton of them! He had a loader just like it on his H and let me try it out. He said he lifts 1,000# round bales with it and had no trouble. The bucket on the one I got has the prongs on it for manure and such. I need that type but were also gonna make something for dirt loading too. Bought it for $250 but doesnt have any of the hyd. lines so I gotta get them. But overall it looks great but like i said..had a lot of rust and needs to be painted. Dont have the digital camera with me now but I'll try to get some pics on here to tell if its a 30 or 31. Just thought I would tell ya guys!

Haas gave you the right information. The dirt scoop slipped over the tines. The cutting edge for the dirt scoop V shaped and the tines slipped into the V.There should be holes in some of the tines to bolt the dirt scoop to. I'd check to see if that dealer might have it. They are real handy. Be very careful if you lift anything heavy. I would say anything over 500 lbs. That will make it hard to steer. Good Luck

You must be Scott (saw your add in the Valley Trader). I'm up between Warrenton and Fredericksburg, and almost called you too, but decided I didn't want to part with mine yet! It's a model 31, currently on my Super H. I called the guy you bought from (Billy Green?) a week or so ago and had a good talk with him, sounds like he does have quite a collection. I understand the easy way to tell the difference between the 30 and 31 loader is the support that goes behind the steering wheel. On the 30 it is apparently an angle iron (with a vertical component to it), where on the model 31 it is just a piece of flat stock that goes across. When I talked to Billy, what he describeb to me sounded like the model 31, but he did have a couple to choose from. The 31 apparently replaced the 30 around 1950. the pipe loaders (models 32/33/34) were out by the mid 50's with the number series tractors.
Good Luck with it,
Stan(VA).

Yeah! I put an add in the Valley Trader and thats the guy I got it from, Billy Green. From what you described I think I must have a 31 then. Do you ever come to the Bridgewater or Weyers Cave tractor show? I live here in Grottoes, about 12 mi. from Harrisonburg, and go to both. Well dinners ready...oysters!! Thanks

I've been to the Bridgewater once, several years ago. I've been to the one right at the Woodstock exit on I81 a couple of times and enjoy that one. I missed last year and Billy told me that last year they featured IH! Of course that's the one I'd miss ;) I always try to get to the one at Somerset near Orange.

The guy I got it from lives in Woodstock, Va. He has just about anything from transmission housings, weights, hoods, rims, wheels, blocks, etc. He has a ton of tractors! Gotta go!

The dirt bucket for these loaders was an attachment that slipped over the manure fork tines. I think it came standard with the loader. You should ask the quy if he has it for yours.
