Good evening friends,

I just wanted to post some pics of the front weights I put on the 971. I'm getting ready to do some brush cutting on some steeper timber ground. Just wanting to keep a nice walking path for us to go explore and see some of God's creation. Anything questionable I will traverse downhill, but the weight should help when mowing uphill. I believe these are old IH wheel weights, each 75 lbs. The plates were cut from 1/2" flat stock and holes torched. On a side note, I used my tractor to pull the base of an old 10' dia. satelite dish out on Friday. Had to dig next to it and get it mostly sideways. Thought I was going to have to sledge hammer it down some, but it came out. Probably weighed 1000# or more. Have a great week. Will be working on wiring the headlights next.

Good Morning Soundguy,

I like the looks of your trike. The holes are threaded blind about 1" or little more deep. I used grade 5 bolts, havn't bounced through the pasture yet, but it seems pretty tight. I'm going to get a long bolt and run it through to top holes to bolt all the weights together as well. The one pic shows a bolt in there, but it is too short, I was just using it to hold the last weight and help me line things up.

Chris

Thanks, that's waht i needed to know.

I plan on welding up a front bumper and hanging it onmine.. Once you add a laoder.. you always find stuff to drive in to.. and my radiator looks pretty good with one a small repair in it.. and i want to keep it that way.

Got a pic of the fron bracket itself?

I havn't probe dthe holes in the front bolster.. are they blind threaded.. or thru holes so you can nut the back of a bolt?

I pln on fabbing up a front bumper and attching it to my 951

That should keep the nose down. I'm going to post some pics of the suitcase weight bracket for my 5200... if it ever gets done. By drilling the mounting bolt holes to match the pattern and size for the hundred series row crops, it would fit them, too.
