I guess you have a Oliver by title. The only real way to do it is trial by fire. There is so much too learn beyond the tractor(it takes years to learn a tractor, weight setup, tire pressure, etc.)Just find a pull,go,enter in the best class for your tractor(most people running the pull can advise),and have fun.If you can find a local club, join. Go to meetings and talk to people in the club, they are the ones that will help and be willing to talk, and explain hints, advise, etc. The more you go to pulls and, talk the more you learn. What model tractor do you have? Good Luck and have fun.Dan

Start by going to every pull you can attend. Research the sport. Subscribe to the pulling magazines and check all the websites you can find. Talk to pullers, they are nearly all very helpful when it comes to getting new blood in the sport. Look at various tractors and how they're set up. Take notes, if need be. After you have an idea of what classes or types of pulls you want to participate in, you can start deciding what kind of tractor you want. A lot of it will depend on what your budget is, how competitive you want to be, what you have to haul with, etc. Listen to the opinions of others, but also weigh them against your own common sense and what you want to achieve in the sport. If a guy tells you that a certain tractor or part is an absolute must-have, get a second opinion. There are so many different tractors being pulled with different set-ups, engines, tires, etc that you can't even begin to imagine all the possibilities. The bottom line it to do it how you want to, because it's your money and time you're spending. Good luck.

Go to www.pullsite.com, and look at some tractors. I know that farmall is easy and cheap hp., I'm partial to deere's, but 2 cyl. ain't enough. A MM is kinda easy too, but not like a farmall. How much power you want, and what tractors are available for you to make a puller.
