So when I pull with my Oliver 1850 to the point it bogs down and stalls, how much damage could I be doing to the Perkins engine in her? Lena says if I break that tractor I'm gonna have to plow the field next time with the team.

What class did you pull in? What size and kind tractors did you pull against. Have you done anything to the old oliver?

If you pull and she runs out of power to the point of stalling,it shouldn't hurt anything. These tractors drivelines were built to handle every HP the engine could put out and live. You take them out and work them under load for 10 hours a day is harder then 120 seconds of underload going down a track.Or tell Lena your buying a new tractor just to pull with, and she'll lighten up.
