Johnny the tractor you mention is a great puller it is a rare tractor less than two thouand were made I think that it produced about 38 hp and has a very stout drive train.Boost compresion up a little and that tractor is real compietor

Joe b...how stupid, an O-6 (or should we say, a HEAVY M FARMALL)!!!!! Yeah, those M's sure do tear it up these days, so let's tell him to build an O-6, and pull, get his butt STOMPED, BUT, he has a "stout" drive train! Get back to reality!

Pete, what tractor do you pull with and where do you see M's getting their butts stomped???
The Farmall M is a tough tractor to beat in stock & Open classes

get your OTHER tractors down to two cyl. and put the crankshaft in sideways and see how competitive you can get, our two poppers are different, but always the one everyone trys to beat,"I didn't win but I beat a"G" "

I pull in the midwest and what i pull is a massey in the mph classes. There are NO M's that dominate any more stupid! Look at results from winter pulls and compare them to other models as far as how many are in the top 3 or top5 .....enough said!

Pete,
Here are the totals for the top 3 placings from ALL the major pulls in 2001 (NATPA, USAP & Dekalb)
Taken from Div 2,3,4,5 & similar USAP classes

Farmall - 282
Oliver - 224
JD - 208
AC - 164 MM - 121
Massey - 40 Case - 35
Ford - 17
Coop/ - 6
Cockshutt

Massey's really kicked some a$$ placing in the top 3 only 3.65% of the time

Before you call someone stupid, you have better have some facts straight so you don't look stupid. If you look at the results from the Ogallala, NE pull, you will find that from the 5500 thru 8500 (Div I II III IV V) a farmall M-SMTA placed 19 times out of 25 classes/divisons in the top 5 slots. If you also look at these results, you will see that some brands/models did better in the certain classes but to say one dominated over the rest in all classes/divisions is not true. Oh yeah, the JD G place 21 times :-)
Look at the Jackpot classes at Columbus, as much as I don't like it, the Farmall M's had a good showing, too.
Enough said!

Old is something that I have not been called. Besides my blood pressure is just where it needs to be. Thanks for showing the compassion. Sell my Deere for what? Farmall and Deere are not longer top dog? MM won't do because I can't spell it ;^), Oliver (don't even go there).

I've got it. A Massey Harry 101 will be the beast of the future. Christ I can haul it in the bed of my pickup.

Do yourself a favor Pete and clean your crack pipe. You've got some bad residue that is clouding your thoughts.

Have a nice day.

A Massey now that is funny. ROFL

I'd like to see the bed of your pickup.

My wife picked up a 101 Massey this winter to play with. It ain't no ball of fire, but it ain't bad for an old flathead neither. Since our 101 is stock, bring your stock JD B over. They should weigh about the same, and the plow rating should be similar. I got an idea which one will be further down the track.

I've pulled agaist a 101 before with our "A" but not the "BN" (might scratch the paint). They do look to be a fun little tractor. What is the going weight for a 101 orginally. I was pulling against the 101 in 4500# but it looked like he had some weight added here and there. He didn't have a strong showing either but he was have a lot of fun (isn't that what it is all about?)

Yup. I have lots of fun pulling, and so does my wife.

Apparently you called my wife stupid for being excited about pulling her new 101 Massey. She was less than pleased when she read that. She bought the tractor for 3 reasons: It was a friends, it was cheap, and very few are on the track.

There are reasons there are few on the track, but if she can be even slightly competetive with it, that puts us way ahead of everyone with a tractor that's a better starting point. It weighs less than 4000, so will be pulling against bigger Oliver and AC's, Farmall H's, JD B's, etc.

My intentions were not to imply all 101 owners are stupid. Please tell you wife that I am sorry if she felt that way because that was not my intentions. If you reread my orginial post, I found it not appropriate for Pete to call someone stupid based on something that is not true. Do farmalls dominate or do any other brand dominate 2500#-9500# No.

Hey Pete lets not forgot how the friendly discussion got started. I believe it was when someone called someone stupid for being excited about their old iron. If you reread the posts, you will see that you never did back up your statement regarding the farmall M.

As far as the Double D, the name comes out of respect for my father-in-law who just happens to have initials of DD and happens to be one heck of a honest, genuine man. In regards to the other set of Double D's, if they came as orginal equipment that is great but no aftermarket parts are being installed. :^) 100% orginal

I keep going back to the Massey....still funny.

I don't know where you boys are from but judging by all your commments its quite a competitive place. In central PA we got a guy that has an M Farmall that he enters in 14000 pace and wins the class almost every year over 1066's,4020's,and 1130's. The tractor looks like an airplane coming down the track with at least 10 sets of wheel weights on each rear wheel.

The Massey 101 that you claim did "OK" at Ogallala is also the NATPA points champ in the 4500 and 4250 div 3. The tractor did not acomplish this just because it went to the most number of pulls. If you check the points standings at the NATPA site you will notice the tractor usually won its class. A tractor doesn't get 13,14 and 15 points just for showing up! The forum should not be a place to bash each others tractors. I have seen this tractor pull and it does very well so why can't we compliment him on is acomplishments.

Keep pulling
