I'm going to be pulling a Farmall A that has a mildly built engine. I want to go with a wider tire for pulling. It has 9.5-24 now. I was thinking 13.6-24. Is that gonna be too big? The next size down that I can find correct wheels for is 11.2-24. Is bigger always better??

I'd try a pull first. If you have too much tire it'll stop you quicker then being able to spin and keep your rpm's up in a bad spot.Remember air pressure has alot to do with how much a tire bites. If you find you spin out alot then you have enough HP to handle a bigger footprint,My two cent worth,John

Thanks John. I tried pulling my Farmall A last year and it did a lot better than I thought it would! I have 9" wide tires on it now(stock). It had plenty of power, but it spun out every time. It's being restored right now and the engine will have a little more power and I was thinking of going to 11.2 or 13.6. The 11.2 are looking a little better right now considering they are about $100 less per tire than the 13.6. I think the 13.6 might be a little too much anyhow. I'll play with the weights more too. Thanks for the reply.
