I am looking for a head for an Oliver 77 (future) puller. Just got the tractor - motor is stuck, and would eventually like to use a head from a 77 Super, 770, 1500-1550, or early 1600. I would also be interested in cracked or otherwise damaged heads for reference. If anyone has any other head suggestions (Like "Go soak it")that they would be willing to divulge, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Brad the head from a 1600 will not fit. The head from a 1600 will work on an 88 though. You might try looking for a head from a Waukesha 185 engine. Another thought would be to convert a 77/Super 77/770/1550 diesel head to gas.

Good luck,
A.P.

A.P. Do you know what other applications that Waukesha motor was used in? My knowledge doesn't go much beyond the Oliver/Cockshutt tractors. As far as Diesel heads go, local rules don't allow them for gas.
Thanks, B.A.

I'm afraid I can't help you on oher applications. I haven't come across amny but I know they were used as power units for generators, irrigation pumps, road rollers, boats, etc. You will just have to look at a lot of motors. You can check the smaller Michigan front end loaders. You may find some other interesting engines. Molines, Waukesha 195 (good head and manifolds for an 88 plus the crank can be offset ground for stroke).

Happy hunting,
A.P.

I forgot to ask if anyone knows what the casting number is for this head. It could help in the search. Thanks.
