F#ck you don't have to do nothing. Its a bolt in install. Or you can bore out the ends and put airs 4-7/16 bore and just gas it.

Burrr Hurrrrr rr

the arm on the governor is different from a "m" also the choke control on the carb is on the inside versus the outside on a "m". if your are concerned about getting "attention" remove the raised casted "c281" on the block just above the oil filter housing below the head by a little grinding.most people are not aware of the date code castings on the block/head any way. other wise like the other posts no problem...enjoy!

And don't forget to change the oil pan. And get rid of the dipstick. Oh yeah, you can't completely cover up the place where the dipstick goes into the motor - it is large and cast in the block.

There are differences between the M and the later 400 and the 450 engine blocks. Will someone really care? Probably not - unless you start walking away with too much of the booty.

Why not just bore out the M block and put 450 pistons/sleeves in it? You'll have nearly the same horsepower, and it won't look so obvious to those who can tell the different blocks, as I can.

You can't bore an M block enough to accept 450 pistons without "Hitting Water".

Yep the good news is it's a bolt in. The bad news is it really tees off some of the competition. Good luck anyhow.

Unscrew the bolts and screw them back in again.
