I pull a 44 some. It does pretty well. We pull 5500 up to 6500. Will run out of power sometimes, will usually get far enough to be competative.

I have been pulling a 44 for the past 28 years with a 100% stock motor. Forget the new tires and go with 14.9 or 15.5 tires that are half worn out. Try to find CooP tires if you can. Have been using 13.6 Goodyear Traction Torque this year to pull in Div. 2 4500# class (wavey bar). Mine in 5500 starts to run out power on a good biting track so I mainly stick to the 4500 and 5000.

I just picked up a 44 this spring. I'm running 23*/ bar 15.5s in 4500 and 5500 in low gear. I usually run just a little short on power in 6500, and have killed it in 5500 on a good clay track.

There is a guy here in Ky who runs his 44 in the 4500 all the way to the 9500 stock class. He runs 16.9" though. He does real well with it. The motor is stock and he beats G's, Super M's, ect..on a regular basis.

Hello,
I have been around a few 44's, never pulled one, but have been pit crew for them.
from what i see, they need a good set of half worn 15.5 X 38's, any tread design will work i think.
shorten your hitch and get all the height you can out of it, and it should make one heck of tractor for low gear pulls.
learning to read the track and weight your tractor right will do you more good then all the horsepower you can buy
just my thougth
