Pulling left on track

I have a Farmall H that I pull. Whenever I get pretty far down the track and the front end lifts just off the ground the tractor pulls to the left real bad. I have the same amount of air in the tires and they are matched with the same amount of tread. The brakes are not dragging either. It does it every time I pull. When it starts doing this I apply the right brake which does not help and kills the pull anyway. Any ideas? Thanks

Yes step on left brake thats the wheel that is spinning then after right wheel spins let up and tractor will go straight. Try It You Will like it.

Make sure the tires are the same distance out from the rear end

Some or most tractors have spacers between the brake housing and the frame. They are there to adjust the preload on the bearings in most cases.
Over tightening on one side could put to much pressure on the spider gears causing it to pull to one side.

I pull in a modified class here in Ontario and have precautions right off the start to correct the tractor going one way. First, the engine spinning will pull the tractor ever so slightly more pressure on the right, which means more tractrion to the right rear tire giving it a bit more traction to go to the left. If it's going to the left, try putting a couple of the weights on your right hand side more toward the left to give that tire more traction. Or if it's not a very strong pull to the left, something as simple as letting air out of the left hand tire to alow it to grip better. This should help, it does with our pullers. Little bit different, but same principal. --Darren

add more air to the left tire..this will allow it to not grip as much as the right and may allow the thing to pull straight untill both spin out for you..only other way to absolutely end this problem is to go inside and shim the diff until it will lock together or install a spool.

The tractor is pulling to the left not to the right. The left tire isn't holding.

My U was pulling hard to the right last year. Had a bad bearing on the right side.

Check rear wheel spacing. If one wheel is out further than the other it will cause the tractor to turn when the front lifts.

Good luck,

If you tractor goes left is your right wheel or you left wheel slipping? Answer Left wheel. How are you going to make the right wheel spin and the differential catch up to go straight and both wheels pull???? Think about it and let us know. Earl in Illinois

You may have already checked this but make sure the hitch is centered. Mike

You could have uneven weight. One side is heavier than the other which makes one get better traction

are the tires the same brand? if not that may make it pull to one side. check the center of the hitch from the center of both rear tires.
