Who has the best designed manifolds for a styled G's(pulling aplications)?I have seen some advertised in the Green Magazine by Jerry's.Is this his own manifold or produced by another company? How good is a Johnson manifold and would this one be ok?I guess my main concern was, what is the choice of JD pullers?I would appreciate any help.

Hey Jack, missed you at Adams, TN this year. As far as manifolds, Jerry's would work if the ports were matched, other wise the later manifold found on styled G's would be hard to beat if you are leaving it basically stock. Check out the manifolds offered by Detwiler tractor, they are LP style which I believe would help. www.detwilertractor.com

Yeah I sure hated to miss that one too.I went to a pull(about forty miles north of me)and when I got there along with several others we noticed that no one was there that ran the sled. After we made a call,we found out that the pull was the next weekend. So when I finally got home it was too late to strike out for Adams. What a bummer.Could a guy open up the ports while the head is on the tractor to match the manifold?See I was wondering about Jerry's and if it would work on mine because mine is"basically"stock.P.S.I heard you all pulled way up into the morning.Did you see the G that was from Dresden, man that one thumps?Later Todd.

Yes you can open up the ports, but I don't know if you can enlarge them enough on a stock type head. The Jerry's head is cast with much bigger ports than a stock head. I guess you could open the head as much as possible, even if it wasn't quite as big as the Jerry's head and still make a big difference. I planed the head on mine about .250 to raise the compression even more and I could tell a difference. I'll be going to Lawrenceburg - hope to see you there.

I called Jerry and asked the same question and was told that his manifold worked best with his head. I proceeded to ask him if I could port a stock head to match his manifold and he said that the head he sells comes with bigger ports than a stock head can be ported.

Jerry is talking about a flat head??? Todd is talking about a Ramp head ??? We have seen no HP gain on the Big port flat head and center fire plugs. Unless it is over 10:1 comp. In fact on some tractors they lost the bottom end power. It is a nice looking casting. But I am disappointed in the dyno test.
