My experience at Denny's...

First off, let me say that I'm not trying to start anything here, I'm just REALLY frustrated and thought this would be a good place to vent.

As some of you know, I've been looking for some good 14.9 X 38 tires for a while now. I called Denny's a few weeks ago and he mentioned that he had quite a few sets of tires and to stop out and take a look. I asked him for details about the tires and he refused to give any simply stating that each person would view them differently. He thought it best that I judge them myself, in person. I thought that was fair enough and since I live relatively close, I thought I'd swing that way on one of my days off.

So, yesterday I call them to confirm that they still have the tires. I was assured that they did and that they had some nice 15.5's as well.

Then, today I called again to confirm and to get driving directions. Once again, I was told that they had 14.9 X 38 tires and they gave me directions.

Well, I bet you can guess where I'm headed...

So today I drive 2 hours (one way) to Denny's to look at the tires and also to buy a few other miscellaneous parts and guess what...NO 14.9 TIRES!!!

The lady in the front office apoligized, but no word from Denny. I expected some kind of hand-shake and apology from Denny himself, but the closest he came was the other end of her 2-way radio. I sort of thought he would at least offer to help me find a pair or give me some names to try, but he didn't even show his face.

I was so mad I couldn't see straight. Needless to say I didn't buy any of the other parts that I needed and I just left. I was so pissed that I actually thought about turning around and asking to speak with him, but what's the use? He obviously isn't into customer service or he would have offered to help me out, give me a discount or even a freaken hat. Like I said, I would have settled for a hand shake.

Anyway, I have bought other parts from them and they have been great, but today was EXTREMELY frustrating.

Theres 4 1/2 hours and $20 in gas that I'll never get back!

Vic

Sorry about your luck but thank you for sharing that. I had considered using him for some of my restoration business. Won't deal with folks like him.

I took my M carb there to get it worked on and he said over the phone that it would be 170.00 to rebuild it. so i sent it there. he called up and said send the check in the mail and i will send you the carb, then i said how much is it he said 295 dollars. I told him just to keep the carburator cause i aint payin that much. so i dont have anything good to say about denny.

Many of us have felt the same frustration when dealing with Denny's.It's no secret that he offers no "service" after the sale either.Just read some of the old posts and talk to others at your local pulls. The best we can do is spread the word so that others are aware of not only the bad experiences but more importantly those who have earned our business thru honesty, and integrity.

When I get there flyer in the mail, which I haven't yet(thank goodness), I will toss it in the trash, again, He wanted to screw me on a Jd carb, to the tune of like 600 bucks, go to a reputable person like merfeld or sombody that can really help you enjoy the same sport they do.
