k d..put one on a stroked g a few years ago..dyno showed 81 in the block..killed the tractor and changed plug wires..82 in the head..not enough differance to say they make more power..we use the ones in the block..easier to check and change..lynn

Using a mag, distributer or a MSD box?

I wonder if any dyno difference would show with one of those multiple spark MSD doxes that spark several times over 25 degrees crank rotation? Optimum timing advance would likely be different with plugs in the head vs block. With a msd box timing can be retarded a little to limit pinging without power loss.

G Taylor..i don't think it would do anything but help..to what extent i would like to try one and find out..i always set the timing on the dyno at around 500 rpm on the pto so it should be optimized there..with the higher compression tractors i retard the governor one tooth so i can retard the timing..the mag won't retard enough to get maximum hp unless i do this..figure there is 18 to 20 btdc..need to check with a light but just haven't..lynn
