On RFD-TV last night was highlights from a pull in New York state. I believe it was from the year 2000 or 2001. It showed a John Deere with the word "Burns" on the side. I could not tell if it was a "G" or not as it was only on for a couple of seconds. Was this the famous Burns on this forum?

Famous...definitely not

Is it my G-yes. It was part of the enhanced pull at the NY JD Expo. Being the only stock stroke tractor, I was quite undermotored but had a good time all the same. If your a JD fan, the NY expo is one of the best shows to attend.

Stock stoke?

Shoot, I figured that burnsomatic G had the rods bumping the bull gears. Naw I saw your post the other day about pulling 8500, unless your were referring to one of your farmalls. Otherwise that's plenty healthy for a standard stroke G. You oughta bring it on down to Oakboro NC and pull with us on the 21st. Should be some pretty good competition from the green and red camps. Maybe some other "colors" too.

I had all the intentions for crowding those bull gears this winter. I realized I had a heck of a lot of fun this summer. Figured why change a good thing. Besides my daughters orthodontics bill may a little priority over stroker cranks.

When I rebuilt the motor in my G I built it with the low end torque in mind, from the cam profile, recalibration of the distrib, and CR...etc. It has to be a really good power track for it to die in 8500 or 9500.

A farmall in 8500??? That is why I like you FF...good sense of humor

Just funnin
