Jeremy,

You need to talk to IHBrad over at the Red Power Forum. He lives in Michigan and pulls a 1206 that must be making 350-400 horses.I visited with him and saw him pull it at the Red Power Round Up at Penfield,ILL in July.He has one sharp looking 1206.

I farm with (2) 1206's but havent pulled them any.Years ago in the early 1970's I pulled an 856 with big injectors,.093 lines,Roosa-master pump with .450 head, big turbo, etc.Did pretty good in 12,000 SS class until the 1066's went to 2 turbos. Then I went back to pulling 10,000,13,000,and 15,000 farm classes.

Jeremy -

It is important to remember that power is developed by (in) the cylinder head. It is important to have high quality head work done. In addition, many hot farm pullers do not spend enough time (money) on the whole induction system. They typically shoot their wad on a turbo and then expect the turbo to "force" the air through rough, unscuplted ports and manifold runners, and under-sized valves. I know that the intake side of the DT360 (stock engine) has an integrally cast intake. It would certainly be worth machining this joke of an intake manifold off and bolting on an individual runner piece. But the rules under which you are going to pull may dictate how extensive of modifications that you may make.

If you do nothing else, just keep in mind that this is not going to be used as a farm tractor anymore and that "stock" parts are no longer going to do the job (at least to be competitive)!

Feel free to email me for more specifics, if you would like.

Regards,

Goldsburg
