i have 1948 jd A going on a diet i am going stamped press rims the thougt is 14-38 with 13.6 38 23 degee field and road 151 i have been told it will flaten out moore is this true in a all stock tractor or should I stick with 12-38 rims will it work or not and what are the hidden down falls to this be for i put big bucks in to a bad thought {will smaller tirer seal on 14 inch rim }any input would be great thanks howard

If you mount the 13.6's on the 14's you will want to make sure you put a tube in there. If you don't good luck getting the beeds to POP on and if you do get them on you will take a better chance at popping off the beed with out the tubes. Anyway this will help with getting more bar to the track as long as you have enough horse to turn those 13.6's with a John Deere, however you will be shortening the height of your tire. By doing so you will decrease you ground speed. However by having a John Deere you aren't going to be passing snails no matter what tire size you put on. (HA HA laugh with me I am giving you good advise here.) 2nd question you need to ask yourself, am I going to only pull at local fun pulls or with a club with "STOCK" rules. Why this is important is that most "STOCK" rules state that tires MUST be mounted on recommended rim width for the tire in question. If you have anymore questions please ask.
