Hey all div 4 and 5 pullers, I was just told by a buddy that NATPA board has decided that if you attend any of their winter pulls and run div 4 or 5, you now have a speed limit! Yes, the board thought it was in "your" best interest to put a speed limit on your classes of 12 mph (sound familiar all you USAP supporters???) Yes, the board did this to shove another thing down your throat, JUST LIKE THEY WANTED TO WITH THE LADDER BARS THAT THEY WANTED MANDATORY!! Every div 4/5 puller is being asked to BOYCOTT Colombia, MO and wherever else they try this crap!! You make the rules..the pullers..the members!!! Call each board member and voice your dipleasure..also let the Crum's know you'd like to go to Colombia but NOT if they make all the rules!! Next they won't let you wear a red hat or green shirt or something!!

First, I am not now nor will I ever be a member of the NATPA.

I have read a lot of the complaints about rules favoring some brands, and different rules not being enforced, rules being made up to favor a puller, etc. I don't doubt that some of the complaints are valid. But, when it comes to safety the governing body should make every effort to protect the pullers, spectators, track personnel, and themselves. Your post mentioned Ladder Bars, I assume you are talking about frame supports. There has already been at least one tractor that I know of in the last year that split in half. Thank goodness no one was injured.

Ask a promoter of a pull what their biggest concern is, or should be? It better be safty. All it is going to take is for someone to get seriously hurt or killed and the whole thing is going to change. Safety is like anything else with pulling, if you ignore it long enough it will bite you eventually.

Jon-I've seen guys that can drive 17mph safe and the next guy can't drive 6 mph straight! At least at Sigourney you guys have a fence and people stay behind it! NATPA lets spectators on the track! That's what they need to enforce!! Don't let the board bully everyone!!

What a smart board!! Let's turn 3400 or 5500 or whatever the 460/560 diesel billet aluminum titanium heads or whatever they're letting run now turn CRAZY rpms but you can only go so fast!! Shut the rpms down to a respectable number and go!! Running excessive rpms at 12mph 18 mph or 6 mph it'll still scatter!!

I think it is a good idea to have a speed limit. cause if ya dont all it is , is politics it is whoever can be more advanced than the other one and whoever has the thickest pocket book and that is bullsh!t. Maybe now we will see who can operate and balance his tractor not his cheackbook!!

this sounds like a little boy that wants to go fast! Everyone skip Wauseon, OH if this crap of the board making rules continues!! Go to the USAP pull instead! Also, lots of letters to the editor of Hook magazine being compiled and sent for next issue(s) if the board doesn't BACK OFF!!

Now that makes sense!?!?! Go where a board can only suggest rules to a dictator and where they have speed limits, too. Anybody ever try to get John to drop the speed limits in Div 4 & 5?

It looks like Bear came up with a grand scheme to distract attention from the legality of his tractor. "I'll put a speed limit on div 4&5, this will pi$$ off the pullers and they'll forget about my 460"

Dear Members, First of all I did not attend the meeting in
St Louis. But I dont feel that the N.A.T.P.A.
needs a speed limit in Div IV & V. I feel what the response above contains facts that are true.
You as a member need to call and tell the Directors in a polite manner your feelings on this
and any other issues. I am a board member that I
hope the members feels is on there for their support. If you have questions like many do I
always try to help if you can catch me at home.
Stand up for your beleives this is the members
organitation. Please voice your oppinion on this to the board members!!! Scott

When you aren't at the meetings the members you represent have no representative. I suggest they all call YOU and raise H*&$! They might as well still have Dan Alexander to not attend board meetings. So you guys in the central area, call Scott. Let him know he let you down.

Scott, why weren't you at the meeting? I hope you had a really good reason. Your vote was a vote that was needed and your input is valuable.

Some of you, but not all, are not going down the track as fast as you think you are and the speed limit will not effect you anyway.

I have yet to see very many Div. 4 tractors run 12 m.p.h. but I'm sure that some of the other board members new how fast their tractors go in fifth gear with that big ring and pinion. Its to bad that the board can't see that div.4 died when they put big tires in div.3. I'll bet nobody called Hudson and asked him how fast his International goes.
