I just got a CASE LA 1953 home and in the work bay. It has a busted head due to freezing, This is a gas tractor . I can get my hands on a 53 propane tractor for parts. My question: Will the head off the propane fit on the gas engine and if so will i see any improvement in HP?? I can also get another gas tractor for parts, which one would be best? Thanks for the help. TR

Propane heads raise compression. I'm not real familiar with case heads but a lot of propane heads,(not all as some are higher than others) that are run on gas require high octane gas to prevent pre-ignition. If your tractor is a puller I would say go for it. If it is used on the farm or for any kind of work I would say stick with the gasolene head.
