I am thinking of building a stroker JD-B for pulling. What are the limits on bore (with and without sleeves) and stroke, and what kind of horsepower can we make. And the all important questions, what kind of price are we looking at, and who would you recommend for this kind of work?

There was a 5" power block offered at one time... I'm not sure how much the "B" head can flow... I doubt that it can handle any more cubic inches than the 5" bore will provide... I'd be worried about twisting the axles off with any serious attempt to pull a "B"... We have twisted off 4, over the years..just in good old hard farm use... The late "B" can't be stopped in 1st gear, anyway...even with over-sized tires.
