I'm fairly new to tractor pulling. I have a tractor I've pulled a couple of times. It has plenty of power but even without any weight up front it will not lift the front end. It just spins out. I have the hitch set at the maximum height allowed by the rules. I keep moving the hitch farther back on the tractor but it still does not pickup the front at all or get very good traction. The drawbar is already back about 3 feet. I don't mind going back even farther if it might help. Maybe I just have not found the balance point or am I missing something. This tractor is keeps coming in a not so distant third or fourth please as it is so I think if I can figure out this problem I should be right there. I realize my tires must not be grabbing like they should but is it possible to go to far back with the hitch point? Thanks for your thoughts.

What weight class are you pulling? What size tires do you have? What tread pattern are they? What pressure are you running? Sounds like you are on the right track.

Antique, 8000lbs, 23 degree wide lug Firestone tires, seems to be best around 8 PSI. The tires are in fairly good shape with a lot of lug left. Maybe that is the problem.
