On Friday night, we ammended our rules in the stock and farm stock classes to read that wheelie bars are recommened but are not required. While safety is a priority, there was discussion regarding how this rule change would make it easier for the local farmers to come without the need to add the wheelie bars.

What are your rules regarding wheelie bars and safety in general

If you don't want to require wheelie bars and want to be safe, drop the hitch height on the tractors, lenghten the chain, and raise the hitch point on the sled. They won't get near as much bite.

Some places have a piece of chain that hangs from the front of the tractor, and when that length of chain, usually 12 to 18", comes off the ground the red flag comes out.

In both of the clubs I pull at wheelie bars are "highly reccomended" on anything that resembles a farm tractor. I mean what the heck for my old pop it amtd to 2 3' pices of 3" heavy angle w/ pads welded on em and 4 grade 5 bolts. First pull I went to didn't have wheelie bars on and I was not comfortable. Now I can let em stand up off the line w/o concern. I pulled cub cadets when I was a kid and saw a couple tractors go over, not pretty. Multiply wieght and force by 10, results would be worse

Here you go again. The change was staring you in the face and you missed. Try this solution different rules for out of field tractor than for pulling tractors. BTW did you graduate from grade school?

Hey a$$hole, what are you staring at? My post didn't ask for an opinion on the different classes we changed. I asked for info on other clubs just so we can compare ours to theirs. By the way grade school graduate, stock class is a name of the class which has your typical rules for tractors as far as age, weight and farm stock is the next class up which allows any year tractor that is naturally aspirated. There is both out of the field tractors and pulling tractors in BOTH CLASSES.

Care to answer this one. How do you determine out of field and pulling tractors. One painted-one not, restored-nonrestored, stock-notstock-more stock-less stock-almost stock, weight brackets-factory weight brackets.

Yes, I managed grade school through graduate school. My diplomas really don't mean diddly to me as far as knowledge is concerned. As far as tractor pulling is concerned the pull results are my awards. Some days I must be a good student and others I should be suspended. So as you look from the granstand classroom down on to the track, just remember to read and look at all posts before touching that mouse and key board.

I always liked the cheerleaders in highschool when I'd play football. But I am not sure I want someone who gets off playing in _hit with a stirring spoon cheering me on. ROFL

Just messing

Don't hold back tell him what you really think
next time!On the stock vs not so stock its almost
impossible I think to separate and do it fairly.
That's the main reason I like speed limits make it
3,5 or 10 MPH,but whatever it is it makes it fair
for everyone. We have alot of pulls with 3.5 MPH
that's about what a good running stock tractor can
pull the sled in its "natural" weight class, plus
it eliminates about 90 per cent of the headaches
for whoever is putting on the pull.

As much as I don't like to agree with you Gary :^) I think the pace tractor does provide some level of fairness to all pulling. I personally don't like the pace tractor but thats another story for a rainy day.

I'll try harder next time to really voice my opinion. Just like you LOL
