What are your thoughts with G'sand there 7-1/2" bore with weldedrods? Are the custom ones worth it?
Is there anyone besides Cunningham?
I know of 2G's that came apart but I am not sure it was the rods fault yet.

From my own experience... the crank will break way before the welded rods will! I was putting the squeeze on things though!! JD A went BOOM, crank broke @ #2 rod journal.

You need to make friends with a machinist that runs a CNC machine.

Buy your steel, 4130 I think, shouldn't be to much trouble being that you only need two.

A friend of mine has made 4 sets and has not had any problems.

It sounds like the cranks give way before the rods, I have had good luck with my welded ones and I have stalled it and strained it alot on good clay tracks, I think some guys just are asking too much with cubes like that in a G. they run good, but for how long??
