Glen--From my point replacement parts are factory parts or sub. numbers of the factory parts. Then you can refer to the Burns factor. I guess it depends on the club rules commitee from where you are or where you are going!! luckydog

Glen there are a bunch of aftermarket companies that specialize in taking old parts and reworking them for performance (big ports, valves, crankshafts). These same companies are offering new parts to replace the original parts (Deere pulling heads, aluminum Moline heads, Farmall heads, cold manifolds)

Trouble is there are so many different types of pullers.

Traditionalist who want only pure stock components including engine components/tires/wheels

Folks that try to get their iron one notch up on the performance side. They may add a bigger tire, a couple aftermarket parts for their particular brand.

Open class pullers that go hog wild creating some really wild running tractors.

The final class contains the "cheaters, liars" These people try to push the rules to the limit while playing the honest system.

I don't know all the brands but I would guess that there are just about the same number of aftermarket parts or OEM substitution parts for each tractor.

You've got it all wrong (AGAIN)

It goes putt, bang, fizzle wizzle, putt, bang, winner circle. Even an idiot like yourself can figure that out.

Did you find your balls and email address yet?

burns,

I was at the Greenville, Kentucky pull on sunday and a guy had a Deere 630 diesel there. It pounded the ground while idleing. Truly awsome. Thing only thing that could touch him was a Moline U with some unreal number of cubes.
We just got out of the way and watched them have at it.

The guy that built it was there watching the owner pull it for only the second time. He told me that it started life as an 800 cid but he took it much larger. I didn't ask him how large it was, but he told me that in fact it was over 1000 cubes. How much over he didn't say and I didn't ask.

Just like any sport, it is nice when there is good competition regardless of brand. Were these open tractors or just strong runners?

Thanks for sharing

Strong runners. They pulled in about 6 or 7 different classes and mph ranges.

The Moline did pull in the largest class (9500 lbs i think) by himself. The JD couldn't hang with him above about 9000 lbs.

Both of them seemed to pull better in the higher mph classes however.

You can read the actual results and tell how much I am off on my figures by going to the USAP web site.
