Why does there seem to ba a lack of Case 70 series tracors in most pulling circuits? When you can start out at 504 cubes with the 1370 and bigger blocks, I'd think that would be a big advantage there from the get go. I know that you might not be able to interchange blocks with some pulling organizations, but still - it seems like there should be some potential.

I've hear that the heads don't flow too well. Is that the major part of the problem, or has there just not really been anyone out there that has been able to consistantly make one a good runner like Hypermax for IH, etc.

Thanks for any input. Just curious

There is quite a bit of case tractors pulling in hot farm and superfarm . you can really crank the hp on them 451 and 504 engines . I know a few that are running that have 620 cid and they have the regular heads witch are ported and polished and big valves and some of them are getting around 325 cfm which is not to bad for any manufacturer's head . But there are some people putting custom alluminum heads on them tractors also and they can put out over 400 cfm. Riverside Engines in Tiffin , Ohio work on case ,they are mostly JD but they will work on a case from time to time.

What is done to get 620 cubic inches out of my 451? I mean what pistons are used 5020 pistons or somthing else. Will I have to stroke the crank? I was just wondering I'm going to rebuild my 1175 this winter to a 504 and was wondering how muck more money I would be to go bigger?

do you have a turbo or not? water injected or not?

I sent a reply to this question on the case forum of ytmag. We are planning on building up a 451 with 504 parts.

The heads flow very well 1370's are to heavy not any aftermarket hot rod part's made for a case but if you have the tallent to make your own part's you can take a 970 or 1070 504 ci. it and make it a very compitive in a hot farm single turbo class with the 8 speed tran's. and not have to sell the farm
