How far can you stroke the crank in a 47 JD-A with a powerblock without having to displace the cam or other internal components? I'm not worried about a little grinding, notching and opening the back of the crank case.

Thanks.

10-4
The 1947 to 49 frame needs more support toward the front of the block when you go big.
The motor tends to rock. It can be as simple as some of the other power blocks, two bolts torward the front on the bottom, and two on the sides for support.
Again, this is what I have found, it might work fine for you.
Good Luck!

Right around 9.500 to 9.625 crank.
Notch your cam around .600 thick for 2.750 jour.
I know of 10 inchs A's with out moving the cam, but thats to harry for me!
I had a cam that was .450 thick that broke when the tractor ran backwards.
I would strap the block, if your going that big in 1947 frame.
Good Luck!
