Is there a compairison between the compression I get at the plug hole to the compession ratio? As in if I would have 150PSI at the plug hole could you say it would be around a given ratio?

This is from a old book before they had valve overlap, but it will get you close..If you can read it.

I have never used the compression tester to figure compression ratio or get close to a compression ratio, due to several factors. Cam -lift & duration, rocker arms - ratio, stroke, bore, combustion chamber volume, and whether or not you have a dish or a dome piston - which will increase or decrease combustion chamber volume.

A compression tester should only be used as a gauge to check and see if one cylinder could have a potential problem, e.g. 140 psi in No. 1, 95 psi in No. 2.

So to answer your question, No I cannot tell you the compression ratio if you told me you increased your stock motor from 125psi to 150psi, because I don't know what you changed in the motor to get it. It must be pulled apart and most importantly check combustion chamber volume to get an accurate answer.
