Hello, I have heard a lot of talk about Allis tractors specifically the wd and wd45 being the best pullers ever made. What do ya'll think? I am talkin non-modified engines just regular stock.

In my experience and opinion, in the weight classes you would pull a WD in, I would go with either an Oliver Super 66, or a Farmall Super C before the WD. I pull Div 1 with a Super C, usually beat the Super 66 at #3000 amd #3500, we split about evenly depending upon track at #4000 and #4500, and he never pulls #5000 so I don't know! The WD's are close at #4000, closer at #4500, beat me at #5000 on a power track, but don't seem to adapt as well to slippery tracks. But: other things such as tires, operator, governor...are very important! All of these tractors are excellent and fun pullers that can provide you with a multitude of weight classes to pull in and be competitive. Pete

From where I'm from a good stock Allis will always finish up around the top - notice I did'nt say always 1st. I have done my fare share of wins and another tractor that always terrorizes my Allis is those Cockshutts, man what tough tractors to beat!

Based a lot on tract conditions, and tire conditions on tractor. I pull against a lot of different brands. realy the only real problem tractors are the Powermaster Ford's, and the Oliver's. But they are both easily beatible, depending on track conditions. I have yet to even come in a close second to a case.

I guess it has so many little things that make it possible or not possible. What do you think is the best tires for it?

My vote is a C series case. I pull one and have beat more stock ACs than have beat me but have been beat by all makes. The case eng makes more low end power than the AC. Yes mine is stock and i pull it in the 3500 thru 4500.

That is true any day is anybody chance. In my area there is no Case pullers really. So maybe thats' why I don't know much about them. What the wd usually beats or wd 45 here is the Olivers, Fords, and Deeres, Although sometimes a farmall will slip in there usually the Super C and take it away sometimes. Anyways, I just was wondering what everyone else thought.
Thanks,
Justin
