HEY,I just found out somthing from a club UP in michigan, how they run there pulling,SO BEAR with me,(no pun intended) and I"LL try to EXP:
they have an ANTIQUE class div, ANTIQUE pluss div,
OPEN div,and V8 class div.NOW each of the 4 DIV.
have 3 chairman, they interpret, inforce, rules and make track calls during a pull,in THERE DIV. ONLY.
IF the 3 can't make the decision, for what ever reason, then ALL DIVISON chairman get involved,a majority call is made.MAJORITY RULES. is there theme. NOW WHEN IT COMES TO MAKING RULES,the ones that pull in these DIV. decide by MAJORITY vote.
They do have lead Chairman to handle the over-all
operations like schedules,awards,mailings,special
events,promos,organizing,ect,ect,ect, I hope I got it EXP.right''

I feel if you put a six mile an hour speed limit on div 4 and a twelve mile and hour speed limit on div 5 all the troubles would be solved div 3oliver puller from in

Put an 10 mph limit on 4 and none on 5 if they are so dead set on speed limits for the hot tractors?

What good does putting a speed limit on Div. IV and V do? Think about it for a second: These divisions have always been open classes (any gear, any speed), the speed limit is in effect for Div. III to protect us. You make it sound like you're trying to create a protected class that the outdated open tractors only would pull in! Tractors moving to where they are competitive makes only logical sense, if you're so worried about it why don't you go to Div. II so you can be more competitive? Then there would need to be a 5 mph speed limit on Div. III though, see what I'm getting at?

I agree with you scott I wouold like to see a 6 mph speed limit in div 4. I think there would be alot more people pulling it. and if people think that is to slow then let them go up and run with the div 5. Oliver Puller from OH.

I have talked with several members of USAP and the reason they have speed limits is to keep the tractors competitive. How so you say? Simple. If you want to spend $10,000 to go 3mph then go for it.

If you spend $10k on a 3mph tractor then you can count on winning every pull. But no one wants to spend that much to go that slow. They will want to move into the faster classes with other $10,000 tractors.

Us cheap skates (poor boys) will have to do the 3mph in our basically stock tractors.

Don't you think things would be allot better off if tractors were only allowed to pull in one division. Division three in the NATPA is nothing more than a practice pull for the division four tractors. Pick your spot and stay there NO jumping divisions. If one division is not fast enough for you just move up to the next division. Put there money where there mouth is. Guess it really takes a big / good tractor and puller to beat one in a class that the winner has nothing to do but whine about the speed limit. Think about it, if he is (really) that good move on up or shut up. Last thing anyone wants to see / watch is a tractor that supposedly is good enough pull at ten mph go three, let see it not hear it!
