If your tractor is painted up nice I would spend a couple bucks and have someone tig weld them before you try it with an arc welder, TIG or MIG with a pulsator set right will look whole lot more profesional.

Tig would make a very good weld. You shouldn't have to worry about it breaking or cracking. Mig using aluminum wire and argon gas is also good. I'm not aware of any rods made to weld aluminum with a stick welder.

Brandon; I'm told that aluminum rods can only be used with reverse polarity welders (ac/dc). Check welding suppliers or Lincoln electric, they gott'em. Thanks for the reply.....H

If you haven't used the Aluminum rods Either get someone that has to do it or go with the mig/tig. The rods are difficult to get used to! Also wear old clothes!
