I dont pull in div. 4 or 5 and I dont ever intend to, but if I did then I would want a speed limit or I would not pull at all. If I were going up against a guy that had the biggest and baddest tractor ever built, do you think that I am going to have a chance when he can get up to lets say 20 mph in his pull compared to my 15 mph. The guy that wants to pull in these divisions that does not have the $ to build big engines just does not have a chance. If you make these 460 and 560 tractors go the speed limit then the average shadetree puller might actually have a chance. I will stay in div. 3 where it takes brains instead of money to win. Just my opinion.

He11 with this tractor pulling, I'm selling the tractor to build me a nascar. Everyone in nascar gets along with one another and plays nice, unlike these tractor pullers now-a-days. I think the nascar payouts might be higher too.

I can't believe what I just read. You must not have a brain at all!! I bet you have never won a tractor pull!! Look, my wife is on me to get rid of some of the old trophies I have. Give me your address and I gladly send them to you. I always give to the needed at this time of year. Maybe you could be more competitive if you pulled pedal tractors!!!

Luv2pull People like yourself are why we have these arguments! Because this speed limit was not decided on by div IV and V pullers it was decided on by Div III pullers who use to pull div IV but could not afford to keep flipping the bill to Gingrich to keep competing in that div!! Why would the NATPA want to put in a speed limit they knocked John Lampkin for it for years and yet here we are talking speed limits? If this is the direction the natpa wants to go why would no why should we pull with them and put up whit all the hassle of competing against the board who also make rules in their favor when we could pull USAP and John Lampkin is the one voice and a fair voice!! Also I do not think he pulls very much if at all at the USAP pulls?????

Dont you think that there should be a division where the deep pockets and bad tractors can run. I think if you cant run div 5 than run in div 4. Dont try to bring the big boys down to where you can run with them, just move to where you can compete.

You are right on! This is just how the rest of the world is, most of us have a budget to live on and that means we have a budget when it comes to our tractors. There are just some with with bigger budgets so don't penalize those with the means to go bigger and badder just cause you can't. Pull were you BELONG not where you wish you could be and can't afford to compete at! Just leave the individuals in Div 4 & 5 alone and that way they will leave us content Div. 3 pullers alone I would say it is an even trade off!

well said, everyone has their OWN division to run!!! You do NOT try to go up a division if you can't already compete in what you're currently pulling!!

Let me remind everyone of something. For the year 2001/2002 Bill Bear finished 3rd of 6 tractors in the 4,000 lb division V class and he finished 5th out of 5 pullers in the division V 3,750 class on the NATPA circuit. He hasn't won anything in the 2002/2003 pulling season. So, out of the 5 or 6 tractors pulling in this division and weight class do the hundreds of other NATPA pullers really care what Bill Bear does? I could care less if he mops up the track with a few cry babies who have no imagination. My money is on Ron Brooks and Adrian Cox who will find a way to win.

Nobody ever talked about speed limits in div 4 and 5 until Mr Bear built his 460. Being on the board of NATPA for 6 or 7 years I can not beleive he would build such an illegal tractor and the gutless board would let him pull it. He wanted this speed limit thing because he figured the pullers would get it throwed out and his illegal tractor would stay legal. Seen this tractor pull and it will beat any past or present div 5 tractors with ease.

Quit crying! Stay in your division. Most of the problems are people that "want" to be able to pull in another div and don't/can't!! Do not make us start stirring crap up in your division! If you knew anything about div 3, you'd see there is plenty to complain about there too!!!

I too pull in Div 3 and enjoy it, but where do you get off crying about a speed limit needed in Div. 4 & 5. The individuals that CHOOSE (KEY WORD) on their own free will desided to pull those respected classes. No one held a gun to their head and made them nor has anyone put one to yours said you must jump up to those divisions. So why keep bringing it up be happy with what you got and how YOU pull and keep your nose where it belongs, not under the hood of someone elses tractor. Yes everone knows that there is a 460 out there that is a TRUE ground pounder we need not say names cause who really fu#@ing cares! On a closing note, pulling is for FUN so go to the pulls for that reason and if you can't SELL YOUR TRACTOR AND STAY AT HOME WITH YOUR SPOUSE AND MAKE THEIR LIFE MISERABLE LIKE YOURS!!!!! !!!!!

I just want you all to know how awful you sound. If someone wants to voice their opinion, lets get a good discussion going not all out war. This is supposed to fun. Something that we all enjoy. Pull your head back out into the sunshine and be glad that we are in a country where we are able to do something like this. Lets leave the politics in Washington. Don't trash our fellow pullers for their opinions. There is absolutley no reason to get nasty about it. Talking about nasty, I feel sorry for Ohio's spouse that is for sure.

What next?If we all STAND TOGETHER, we can DEMAND a change of board members, there are more of us, then them,if a few can make rules for the most of us,then the most of us can throw the few of them "OUT!"
