Dave, You just need to find a local shop that was in business back in the 1970s or before. It used to be about half the auto shops around had a Sun Dist Machine but nobody has used one since 1975. lol kjm

You will really need that advance curve with that huge rpm range you have.

I also pull a John Deere,(and proud of it)and I was wanting to know if there were some people who have dynoed John Deere tractors with the distributor worked on,and if there were any signifigant gains doing it?If it would get just one hp than I would get it done.Does it work on a low rpm engine?Later Steve

Steve I don't have dyno numbers but I had noticed an improvement in the mid range performance on my G. I think Deere would set full advance on the distributors around 600 rpm. Any improvement done by recalibrating your distributor will help. Heck for around $30 you can't go wrong with Motec.

Good point, Burns. It has nothing to do with whether the engine will run 975 rpm or 9750 rpm. It all comes down to getting all the performance out of it you can. That's what wins races, pulls and whatever else.
