Who is good to send a cam to have ground? And is it really worth the trouble?

Cam grinding is good but, it depends on the Hp that you are pulling! I put one in my Div-II G. What are putting it in?

There are many different outfits grinding cams, so that may be a matter of personal preference. Whether or not it is "worth it" to grind a cam is an easier to answer question. The answer is yes. Even if the engine is going to be rebuilt as stock, it's good idea to have the camshaft checked and reground if necessary. Machining techniques have changed and improved dramatically in the last 50 years, and it's possible to get a much more accurate grind. Since the camshaft is the "brain" of the engine, having it ground insures that it will be performing at it's best and helping performance as much as possible. Also, don't overlook the other valvetrain parts, as worn rockers and rocker shafts can make it very hard to set and maintain accurate valve lash and so forth. Just like the hot-rodders always say - the best place to gain performance is in the cylinder head and valvetrain. If it's not up to par, the best short-block in the world won't perform like it should.
