Anyone know if a Farmall M block will
take a 4.25" bore with the pistons running in the
block (no sleeves). I have an M block I want to use with that bore.

If you bore the block out it will run a 4.25 piston in it with the sleeve as well.

You can run that combo all day long. I have that in my M. Use it for plowing.

I know two guys running 4.31 bores in M blocks. One is running without sleeves the other had to use sleeves because they hit water while boring the block. I've been told that 4.25 is pretty safe, but past that there's a 50/50 chance of finding water. Also, at 4.25 you can still use the stock head gasket. Good Luck.

a 4 3/8,s bore is the bigest bore i would without sleeves and you should only use a 450 block because they are a little thicker. if you go with a biger bore you will have to use sleeves and you will have head gasket problems because the sleeves will move around because the block is to thin after you bore it . if you want a bigger bore go to a profesional motor builder. thats just my opinion thanks
