More air means more oxygen and you can burn more fuel. Better flowing is always better if the velocity of the charge is the same or better. If you get to large of a cross section in the manifold then volume and pressure increases but velocity decreases causing less power. At low RPMs, long and small gets the most torque. You can back cut the valves and get a three angle valve job which should increase max cfm yet still maintain velocity. Your next step would be to add more fuel. Bowl blending might help.

What do you mean by bowl blending? are you talking about dishing the pistons? if so won't you lose comp?

Where the runner merges into the pocket, (the area above the valve). Clean up any rough edges and create a smother transition without increasing the cross sectional area too much.

I can get you a setup like mine...a IH V-8 truck heads put together with the wrong length block and totally homemade manifolds!! It works great!! Of course, you'll have to pay off any of your local club board members for them to approve of it! If they are as easy as the ones I just bought off, it's worth it! Let me know!

I was wondering where I could get the number for a machine shop that would build something that shady, Grizz can you hook me up? Also, must be absolutely identical to Papa Bears and be able to withstand "PRESSURE".

Call Lemon's in Indiana, they just build it, don't care if it meets rules or not! They will build ANYTHING!! Even have the Div 4 guys thinking those "recast" 450 lp heads are legal!! They will give you whatever you want, yes it's shady/illegal, although you may feel a little UNDER PRESSURE! Remember to pay off the board members and it is a for sure legal thing then!

My 2 cents..... let the bear thing go... what does that have to do with the question anyway? .. apparently you guys havehave been beat and got a chapped a$$ about it..you prob. dont even run div.5 and if you do deal with it and spend some money to compete....dont blame lemmons they just build what the customer wants.... They do quality work and I have always been satisified..... ..
