I've got a 70 gas that the block is junk in, and I want to build a puller/usable tractor. What is interchangeable between the gas and the all fuel's. I would like to use a all fuel block with .125 overbore G pistons, but then will my 70 gas head work? how far can I bore a gas block? whats a good stroke that will still let me use it for plowing? Just looking for a direction here so any ideas are welcome, thanks in advance.

Any one who would do machine work and not check for cracks must be on crack. I bet ol' big iron feels kinda silly about now huh G (second most powerful tractor in the family)PULLER! I bet he'll have that ol wreck beltin' out 70+ hp before next years pullin season. He might even get 'er up to 10 miles an hour in 1st gear. My 2 centz

It is possible to get close to 70 hp from your 70 gas without going the bore and stroke route. You only need to clean up the bore to the next available size piston. Machine .125" from the head surface and the block surface. Unshroud the intake valves on the head and port match the intake manifold. Talk to Berry Cam Service in Lester prairie, MN 320-395-2377 and get a hot cam ground for stock R.P.M. Convert your oil bath to a dry element filter and you should be in the mid 60's for power. The old saying an engine is just an air pump is true, center your efforts on the head porting and intake work instead of spending big bucks on a stroker engine. A couple hundred dollers spent at the head porter is better than $1000.00 on a stroker. The money you save can be well spent buying yourself a bigger plow, wink, wink.

My Cousins built a JD 70 to pull in their County pull...it was useable for plowing ( kinda)...!!! It was bored to 6.125" RPM- 2,800 Bn front end, no hydrolics. Heavy wheel hubs Much bigger tires. different cam. Pulled in 5,500 thru 9,000 lb class.. About 10 MPH in 1st gear...!!!

The 70 Gas head will not work on the All-fuel block.. the 70 Allfuel bolt pattern for the head, is the same as a G.. Only the G or 70 Allfuel head will fit the block.. Good luck finding the 70 Allfuel parts....
MOST 70 Gas blocks will take the 6.125 bore for the stock G pistons..
