This past Friday, I took my Ford 900 to a tractor pull. I pull in 2nd gear & I was wandering what the gear ratio is. Is there another Ford trator tha has the same 2nd gear ratio. Maybe a Jubilee. Could I change transmissions from a Jubliee & put it in the 900.

I just got off of the phone with the owner of the 900. Carl is running 15.5x38 6 ply tires. When he added the 15.5's, he had to remove the 3 point arms and his weight brackets to be able to get into the 3500# class. He runs the tractor at 2400rpms. He doesn't pull 2nd because of the condition of his clutch. First gear is around 3.4 mph and 2nd is around 5 mph. This is the info he gave me so don't shoot the messenger.

Oh, I asked about the color of his tractor. According to him, from 55-57 the 900's had gray tin with a red body. This was similar with the 901's. When the 4000 series came out, the tractor was painted blue. I was just curious, so don't think I am critizing your tractor. :^)

How much wieght did you hang on that tractor. Our tractor weighs around 4050lb. right now. I have a hard time making it 4500lbs. I assume you hang suitcase weights on it, but where. The front or back.

I am well awhere of what this tractor can do. It can pull damn good. I recently went out & bought a 2"x1"x28" piece of steel. I was going to make a drawbar for it. I figure I would pull it up to 20" & make it closer to the tractor. Thsoe pie weights, are they hard to find. I would like a pair. we always just borough some from a friend. hat do they go for now?

Rob does your tractor look similar to this one (first photo)? I know the owner of this tractor claims that second is too big of a jump. His dynos around 45-46hp. It is a tough little tractor in the lighter classes unless the track is taking power then he has a hard time balancing the ol' girl.

I was enjoying reading a variety of post that didn't have an a$$hole adding his two cents. You mentioned that we would be pulling against each other at some point this summer. You need to send me an email so that I make a point to go. Oh I forgot, you don't have an email or balls to find one.

I think Rob can make his own judgement as to who he is going to take advice from, besides I don't remember offering any advice.

Ya, it is very similiar. Except, for ours has power adjust wheel & is painted blue instead of where the red is. Ya' It is a good tractor in the 4000lb. weight class, but I can't do anything in the 4500lb. class. What class does he pull in with his. What type of tires, how high is the drawbar, & how much weight does he hang on it?

Rob I'll have to get back to you on the particulars of his tractor. I do know the rears are 38's but not sure on the width. I'll send him an email on your questions.

There anin't 38's on a 900, there are 28's. I appreciate the help. I take it you & "Pete" compete with one another.

Carl, the owner, was telling me that he gets a lot flack because he is running the larger thirty eight inch diameter tires. I don't care either way, but he mentioned that they were a factory option. However, I do like to pull his chain about his non-stock tires :')

Pete has a way with words that makes everyone feel warm and fuzzy inside ROFL.

Rob, i wouldn't say burns really "competes", he just "attends and participates" at the pulls!!

Rob, i know for a fact that there are two ford 900's here in southern indiana that are running 38" tires. 13.6-38 i believe. they seem to do real well in the 4000 and 4500 lb uncut tire classes.
