Alot go 5.125 to 5.1875 I would think 5.250 would work. Sleeved to 5.500/ Hard block 5.750
I ran a 1944 reg. block 4.500 bore, at 5.500 bore for years.
It leaked really bad!! But, it worked.
Good Luck!

Not to be a smart-ass, I would spend my money on a A before a big B. Same money, more options. It is thou, alot of fun beating bigger tractors with a small one. What year B are you going to use? The B is the hardest one to put a crank in. No room to get in there-to make room for the crank. 7 to 7 1/2 makes a good set up. I know of a B that has a 8 3/8 crank! It took alot of beer to put that one in.
Good Luck!

The reason for building the 42 John Deere-B is so I can pull the lighter classes 3500-4500. I do have a 47 JD-A with a powerblock in it , it is not stroked with 6.125 bore with dyno's 55hp which I pull in 4500-5500, and also pull a 68hp 51 JD-G nonstroked that I pull in 5500-7000 classes. I just purchased a powerblock for the B a would like to do the crank while I have it apart. My brother has a B with 4 5/8" bore and 7" stroke that is alot of fun to pull so I wanted to build my own a go with the powerblock and as much stroke as I can without relocating the camshaft. If you have any good suggestions I would be happy to here them

You can make 3500 with an "A" Its not easy nor cheap, but it can be done. On the B, you will want a Heisler head/manifold and a bored out "A" carburator to feed the beast. You said 3500-4500 lbs, do they have a 3250 in your area? The B can be gutted to make 3250 with a little work. Good luck on the "B"!
