What is the cheapest way to get a few more horse power out of a stock 39 m farmall with msd ignition, K&N airfilter, and eletronic ignition and without having to go into the motor. We are having the head worked on..what would you recomend doing to it? All comments appreciated

I planned off 125 thousands off the head of my M which has the high dome pistons. That will help up your compression considerably.

Try and find a propane head.Sometimes a person gets lucky and buys a whole lp M dirt cheap.Thats about the best bolt on hp for the money w/o stroking.Good luck.

Agreed. And since he did no other mods, I doubt anyone would be getting much more than two more hp, if that, above stock.
