I am a 15 year old from pennsylvania wondering does anyone know what I can try to do to make my 1944 H pull better I have restricted the governor spring and pulls better but need a way to run it at my clubs max RPM of 3000 right now i have it at 2590 any suggestions would help.

I don't know how you did it, but the factory RPM's is 1590 maximum. I have seen this for a fact that if you go 25% over the RPM, you are running the chance of throwing a rod through the side of the motor. I have a Farmall M that I pull with, and we bored it out to a 4 1/8 piston, put a 450 high compression head on it, and that should bring her to 72-78 horsepower. Before we tore it down, we used to run it without the air cleaner hose, with a straight pipe, and we bored the main jet out in the carberator to get more fuel. Boring motors out costs a lot but I think it is worth it.

You should consider balance. Not in wieght but in the way you have changed the purpose of the motor.
Factory max rpms is what, 1864? Now you have changed it almost 80%. Bigger valves w/three angle valve job should be a good/fairly cheap place to start. Then figure out a way to change the rockerarm ratio to get more from your cam without having to have it ground. Once that is accomplished think about how to feed a motor that wants to breath a little better. Milling the head a little shouldn't cost more than 20 bucks or so. This will bring up the cyl pressure which always creates more hp. Then all you need to do is make sure you have enough clearance between the valves and piston during the overlap period. Then you might not need to crank on it as hard.

Just my opinion for someone wanting something more without having to spend much.

FK, I assume you have all the throttle/governor linkeages adjusted up? If you already shortened the governor spring, then Wildman is right, grind the weights a little... or find someone with a Super C that will trade you. You'll always out pull a straight unsuped up H with a Super C. Try to find one without a quick hitch if you are only gonna pull it, they just add weight in the wrong place. Pete

GRIND OR CUT THE WIEGHTS INSIDE GOVERNOR.BE SURE TO TAKE OFF A EQUAL AMOUNT.
