I have an H tore down in my garage, and between now and spring I need to get the tractor down to at least 3250. (I weigh 230) Does anyone have a tip to lose weight? The tractor that is! I want to pull it in the 3500# classes. Thanks

Fill the rear end with expanding fome to displace some of the fluid. The reabon they originaly carried so much fluid was for cooling when spending hrs. & hrs. in the fields. After cleaning, fill with foam then trim where needed with a knife. Most all the super stock tractors do this.

There is a gentleman by the name of Dave Brugger that built me a set last summer for my H. He sometimes advertises in the Hook magazine. They were reasonably priced and he did an excellent job building them. If you are interested, e-mail me and I will give you his phone number.

I pull a H and you will need to use steel pressed wheels and probably weld on axle plates instead of hubs. My H will make 3500 with 14.9X38 tires with this set up. If you are running bigger tires like a 18.4X34 I dought you make it unless you use alot of aluminum. I weigh 250lbs. You will need to strip off everything(belly pump, lights, air cleaner, belt pulley) A lighter front end will help like one off a 460.If you have any questions email me.

I know that it can be done. 1. Remove the hydrolic pump, 2. Remove the PTO shield and fenders, 3. If you pull from the drawbar, not the hitch but the flat piece of steal, remove the hitch tongue, 4. Run with ONLY enough gas for you to pull,{ add a little octane booster to get more power}, and 5. If this doesn't get you down enough, you'll have to find spoked rear wheels. An H that has enough horsepower can really compete with the WC Allis'

How much did your H weight before you took it apart?
