We are pulling a IH 400 now, narrow front with 13.6x38 tires. We weigh 5700 now with no driver and would like to lose 4-500 lbs to compete in the 5600 lb class. We are going to go to 16.9x38 tires. Will removing the PTO, and the hydralic pump/ oil give us the needed weight loss? Will we just spin out in the lower classes? We cannot use pressed rims in our local farm classes. Thank you for the inputs.

By the weight your posting it sounds like you do not have a fast hitch on it.I would put the 16.9's on first and weigh it again and go from there. The items you want to remove are a good start and when removing the hydrualics take the valve banks off also and the lines to the rear. With the tires you want it may be hard to get there on weight maybe 15.5's would do better? As far as spinning out you'll have to work on balance.Whats the drawbar requirements?
