I believe the book rpm for these is 1650 or something close. Have heard that the 300s were speaded up to 2000 RPMs so some of the Super Ms were also. Anybody have experience with this on the SMTA or Super M? NOt pulling it just use on the farm. What is the best way to get the extra RPMs? Set governor?

Maximum high idle was 1600 rpm. It was rated at 1450. To raise the rpms, remove the governor cover and adjust the botom screw out. In fact, I think some of the guys I pull with keep the screw in their pockets.

if you want you can take off the governor cap where the breather pipe for it is located and adjust it out here. I tried adjusted my M in the other place first but the throttle wouldn't pull it open so I had to adjust it here. If you do this you can keep getting RPM's until she blows.
